Bloggers Meet & Greet 2!

who shall we visit gf
UPDATE:

Hey folks! Our winner is:

http://www.breakfastwithbentley.com/

A blog run by Kristine and ably assisted by Bentley the dog.

How about you put Saturday 16th May (tomorrow) in your diary and pop round and say ‘Hiya!’ to Kristine.

If you miss Saturday then just go visit any time and tell her The Ed sent you for Who Shall We Visit!

____________________________________________________________

So This Is How It Works

1. Y’all nominate a generous blogger, generous as in:

a) they are a community regular or newbie here that adds good stuff to the conversations.

OR

b) they are known around the blogosphere for supporting and visiting other bloggers.

2. I’ll announce the most nommed once there’s enough names.

3. We all go visit them on a set date, say howdy and introduce ourselves so it has real traffic impact and of course any time after if you think you like them! If all goes well. We do another..and another…and another…

      1. I’m sure he wouldn’t just go private for no reason because he seemed to love interacting with the public so much. I bet it’s a safety measure of some kind.

  1. Hi there, due to following other bloggers I stumbled on the recent on line action of “1000 Voices speak for Compassion” By participating, which was a last minute rush and could not resist speaking up before closing time, I found this wonderful blog of a fellow Aussie that I have followed ever since. I would love to nominate Rowee and her blog https://beyondtheflow.wordpress.com/2015/04/23/after-the-sydney-storm/comment-page-1/#comment-2138
Thanks for the opportunity to shine a light on this well deserving lady,
    Pollyesther

  2. I’d like to nominate two WordPress bloggers:
Gilly Goldsworthy at “Lucid Gypsy” and
Lee Dusing at “Lee’s Birdwatching Adventures Plus.”
Both are on WordPress, and both are very good to visit other bloggers and comment supportively. They also encourage their own readers to visit other blogs as well, and even post articles and pictures by others.

Do you need the links now or only if they are the most nominated?

      1. You’ve missed it! WHERE WERE YOU?! There were drinks, music and dancing girls… 😉

No I want to put it out again and see if I can add more folk to it because I want it to have a REAL impact on whoever we visit, not just 2 or 3 folk – although that’s good too. If not, I’ll find another way to drive traffic to the lovely bloggers.

  3. I like this idea! I’m a new follower of this site, and I love it already!
I would like to nominate Todd from https://forgottenfilmcast.wordpress.com . He also encourages a sense of community among bloggers by hosting Blog-A-Thons. For example, last year he hosted a Big League Blogathon (https://forgottenfilmcast.wordpress.com/tag/big-league-blogathon/). Bloggers would write an article about baseball in film. Then during the blogathon week, he posted the links to the bloggers pages. I was too late for the party on that one. However, at the end of August, I took part in his 1984-Blog-a-Thon (https://forgottenfilmcast.wordpress.com/2014/06/05/announcement-1984-a-thon/). It was the 30th anniversary for so many great movies. So, the same thing happened. During the week of August 25-31 he posted links to bloggers’ articles about their assigned movie. This helped me discover several great bloggers, and I got several new followers as well!
    Thanks for doing this!

  4. Ooh, this is very new to me: new blogger, so I hope I’m participating correctly. I’d like to nominate The Life Project: https://lifereference.wordpress.com as for me personally he’s been very encouraging to get connected and from my personal experience is the kind of blogger to ‘go the extra’ in building community

  5. I was just going to ask the same question about how long we have! I read your posts and most of the comments so I need some time to go back and see who’s who..haha…this is a great idea though! After the last one I did have a few people stop by…I’ve been enjoying reading some new blogs!
Ok, time to grab a coffee and do some reading 😉

    1. I’m going to go with the flow JG, so it could be a week or more to see if enough numbers build up to really make a difference to folk’s blogs.
And great to hear folks have been stopping by. Fabulous!

  6. I’d like to join but not sure how much time I need to spend here. When is this due??? Can I come back to you later after my work in 10 hours or so probably 😀
    Great idea by the way!

    1. As much or as little as you like. Just be natural about it. If folk see you around and nom you we visit! The good thing is that it’s not down to me! I’m going to give it the time it needs to build sufficient noms – a week? 2 weeks? We’ll see.

      1. Ooogh good question! I’m going to say ‘no’ after much thought because blogging is about community.

Not you but a lot of folks don’t realise that the sheer act of taking time to get to know others is what builds blogs. They keep thinking there is some deeper secret behind blog building.
By having to check out someone else to nominate, newbie bloggers will be doing what the blogging goliaths have done since blogging began to grow their blogs.

  7. I nominate Anderson Ever After and Kaui from Maui – both on WordPress. Jess from Anderson has some good followings but Kaui is a young blogger who is fun to read.
