Wonderful advice! Not to keep our heads in the sand, of course, but ….
Printed that one out and put it on our fridge for the WHOLE family to see!
Excellent stuff! 🙂
Nice post. Appreciated.
[…] Perfect stress management […]
That’s completely true!
Holding on to past hurts or worry does more harm than good. People should learn to forget bad experiences and move on with life.
Simple wisdom! Now, back to the glass 1/2 full, 1/2 empty issue (with a decidedly less sincere viewpoint ;>) http://mitchteemley.com/2014/09/10/world-views-glass-ified/

just perfect. I loved reading this today.
Good stuff! 🙂
I like this one! I contributed you along with several other inspirers a nomination to One Lovely Blog Award. It’s posted on my last posting.
Thanks, for allowing to put the glass down for the moment to see what it mirrors within me.
You go Miss Lady! Well done for letting go and thatnk you for the mention 🙂
So true. Thanks for the reminder!

So true! A wonderful story! I’ll reblog!
Thanks Katrin. 🙂
What a wonderful way to look at something that I struggle with. I’m going to try to put the glass down more often!
What a great analogy. I think that I’ll share this post with a fewLOL people that I know. Best!
Outstanding, and re blogging.
Thanks B Harmony! 🙂
It’s a brilliant analogy! I am putting my glass of water down right now! Thank you, as usual, for your post!
Do you know! Having written it, I forget to my own down right away also! Bad teacher! 🙂
This story was a brilliant really, couldn´t be more true. I found the analogy of the glass of water with life smart and also found it to be true some time ago, which makes for a better life. Or making you a stronger person.
Thanks Charly! 🙂
Oh my goodness. SO true…Sad to day I’m in the last category… holding the glass way to long. Awesome post!
Guilty also M’lud! – Or Yer Honour depending on where you are from…and the blog is looking gorgeous.
Such a great analogy. I also read this today from someone I follow on Instagram. Hmm, maybe there is something I need to let go of!
Ha ha! It’s been a secret intervention!

Not at all! 🙂
that is so blooming true! Yet how hard it is at times to put that glass down.
Oh I know!
Ah, the joy of a good analogy. The right metaphor is magic!
Ah ’tis so indeed! 🙂
Very True …. And a much needed reminder
‘Tis so! Put kettle on! Ed’s coming over! 🙂
Very true. Thank you for sharing.
I have been waiting a long time for this: a psychologist that shows some common sense. Thank you for posting this one.

Worries. Stresses. Hurts. Hold them for a while, but learn to put them down. Recognize your battles, acknowledge the struggle, then let go.. Surely God doesn’t want us to break our own arms. 🙂

I have read this before, and it is a nice analogy. However I would advocate putting the glass down BEFORE letting go, to avoid having a mess to clean up 😉
Why I oughta…! 😀
Yes, yes, yes!!!! Letting Go!! Hard to do, but so well worth the effort.
Oh yes! Not easy at all! But if we keep remembering what we perhaps SHOULD do, one day, consumed with too much on our plate, we’ll finally do it…hopefully!
This is such a beautiful reminder. Thanks for sharing it.
You’re welcome! 🙂

The weight of a glass of water… relativity for every survivor, regardless of the contents we describe. 😉
This describes grudges, too.
right-o! i really appreciate this comment, and i’m so glad you wrote it.
it’s very easy to find a foothold with righteous indignation when we’ve been wounded without provocation… sometimes, it gets to be a habit that’s hard to admit. when opportunities to face the habit surface… victimhood goes away, and getting square in your skin can be very humbling.
thanks for writing.
